Structural Brilliance: Zero Liquid Discharge Heights

Introduction:

In the heart of Ahmedabad, the skyline has been transformed by the completion of a groundbreaking project by Pleid Design & Engineering LLP from Pune. This multistory steel structure, often referred to as a plant structure, is designed to house state-of-the-art zero liquid discharge (ZLD) equipment for Dishman Carbogen in Bavla. Let's delve into the intricacies of this engineering marvel that took shape over the course of 11 months.


The Challenge: Creating a Multistory Steel Structure

The project presented a unique challenge - constructing a multistory steel structure to accommodate advanced zero liquid discharge equipment. With a total height of 25 meters and six levels, the structure needed to be robust enough to handle the load of 600 kg/m2 on each floor, inclusive of equipment loads.



Prefabrication for Precision:

The structure's skeleton was crafted using prefabricated built-up members. This approach not only ensured precision in fabrication but also expedited the construction process. Prefabrication allowed for a seamless assembly, reducing on-site construction time and minimizing disruptions.



Innovative Flooring Choice:

To complement the advanced nature of the project, gratings were chosen as the flooring type. This decision serves a dual purpose - providing a stable platform for workers and equipment while allowing liquids to flow through, a crucial requirement for a zero liquid discharge facility.



Galvaume Sheets for Roof and Walls:

The choice of roofing and wall material plays a vital role in the longevity and functionality of an industrial structure. In this project, galvaume sheets were employed, offering a perfect blend of galvanized steel durability and aluminum corrosion resistance. This not only ensures protection against the elements but also enhances the aesthetic appeal of the structure.



Detailed Shop Drawings by KTSC:

The intricate design of the structure was realized through meticulous shop drawings provided by KTSC in Pune. These drawings served as a blueprint for fabrication and construction, ensuring that every element fit seamlessly into place. The collaboration between Pleid Design & Engineering LLP and KTSC highlights the importance of precision in engineering.



Dispatch from Pune to Ahmedabad:

Once the fabrication process was complete, the structure, a testament to collaborative engineering, was dispatched from Pune to Ahmedabad. The seamless logistics of this operation ensured that the project stayed on schedule, meeting the tight 11-month deadline.
